Informal City

An ongoing research project which explores housing alternatives incorporating lessons learnt from both informal and formal housing strategies. Diepsloot, a post-apartheid township on the northern periphery of Johannesburg, serves as a case study of the Informal City.

The research has been produced over a two year period in partnership with the Goethe-Institut, Johannesburg, 2610 south Architects and Prof. Lone Poulsen and formatted onto a website www.housinginformalcity.co.za.
